Nanny Employment - Finding the Perfect Match

Once you’ve decided what type of childcare you’re looking for (live out, live in, bilingual etc) you need to register your vacancy online by completing our family registration form. This will submit our T&Cs and your information will be carefully reviewed by a member of our staff who will then contact you directly to discuss your specific requirements.

We at Royal Nannies work hard to ensure an excellent match is made between the needs of the families we serve and the nannies we provide. This gives our family clients complete confidence that the candidates we shortlist for them to interview will completely match their requirements.

INTERVIEW AND SCREENING PROCESS

There are two key interviews in the matching process. Firstly, we carry out an in-depth personal interview with each nanny when they first join us. Secondly, our client families are provided with an opportunity to interview a short-listed slection of nannies, all of whom have been closely matched to the particular needs of the family concerned.
During our interview of the nannies we carefully review their nanny employment and childcare education and thoroughly check references for previous nanny jobs, child care experience, qualifications and character.

As part of our screening process, a professional carer registered with Royal Nannies will have:

  • Current childcare portfolio showing experience and/or education in the field of child development or nanny qualifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in caring for children.
  • At least two excellent childcare references from the UK.
  • Interview with Royal Nannies prior to referring to families.
  • Most of them will be CRB checked, qualified and hold their First Aid Certification.
  • A nanny registered with us has to be a non smoker and at least 21 years of age.
  • All nannies have to be willing to make a one-year commitment, unless another time frame is specified by the parents.

We assess each family’s needs and the environment in which their nanny will function. We also advise on scheduling and help define the nanny's role within the family.

MAKING THE CHOICE

When all the interviews and screening have been completed  the data is matched to our nanny profiles, and appropriate nannies are selected for the family to interview. We help set up interviews, offer selection of interview questions and review the impressions of both family and nannies.

THE FINAL STEPS

When a family feels comfortable with a nanny and decides to offer her the job, we can help draft a work agreement to make sure no key consideration has been overlooked. Once the Nanny has accepted the offer, she is directly employed by the family.

The final stage is follow-up. After placement of our nanny, we contact both family and our candidate to assess the working relationship. We offer post-placement support so whatever your concerns, we will be here to help you. We also introduce our London nannies to others in her area, creating support groups where they can meet other childminders and share ideas.
